On June 26, our students enjoyed a tram tour from the Sai Wan Whitty Street Tram Depot to Causeway Bay. They explored the century-old tramway and learned about its role in the city’s evolution since 1904. The route showcased the city's dynamic contrasts, from the dried seafood stalls of Sheung Wan to the skyscrapers of the Central business district and the historic Woo Cheong Pawn Shop in Wan Chai. The tour also featured bustling Causeway Bay with its shopping malls and streets, as well as the Canal Road Flyover, where traditional villain-hitting rituals are held. This immersive experience highlighted the vital role of trams in shaping Hong Kong’s urban landscape and culture over generations.
