APASO (Assessment Program for Affective & Social Outcomes, 情意及社交評估套件) is a tool developed by the EMB. It is a tool for school self-evaluation. Questionnaires can be used for a group of students or a student population but not for individual students. Through the surveys, we can have an in-depth understanding on the students' performance and development in affective and social domains so as to evaluate the effectiveness of support services and activities on the students and draw up an action plan for improvement.
We conducted the APASO survey on Students' Attitude to School (學生對學校的態度) in December 2005. The survey provides a global index of the quality of life experiences of individual students at school as well as seven separate indices of students' quality of school life, including:
- Overall satisfaction (整體滿足感)
- Level of alienation (負面情感)
- Relationships with teachers (師生關係)
- Social relationships (社群關係)
- Sense of achievement (成就感)
- Opportunities (機會)
- Experiences (經歷)
The results were reported in the Parents' Newsletter (護訊) delivered in April 2006.
