Objectives:
To learn how to inquire in a geographical manner and understand the concepts which facilitate enquiry.
To know and understand the processes which shape the landscape patterns in the Hong Kong, China and the rest of the world.
To develop values and attitudes supportive of actions which will create and maintain a sustainable environment, promote co-operation and understanding among the people of the earth, and cultivate a sense of belonging to our society and nation. To introduce to students various geographical concepts and to broaden their knowledge of the world which becomes more complex with time and is in a state of constant change due to human decisions.
To equip students with general and specific knowledge, skills and attitudes appropriate to the discipline of geography which will be useful to them in society and help them to further study.
To stimulate students' interest in the study of geography and the world around them.
To equip students with an understanding of man-environment systems in different landscapes.
To develop a range of concepts and skills which can foster the analysis of problems, critical thinking, and the making of sound judgments and decisions.
To help students to develop personal and social values that contribute to the betterment and well-being of mankind.
