Duties:
| 1. Civic & Moral Education |
Plan and arrange school assemblies and form teachers’ periods to infuse value education, civic education and moral education to cater for students’ needs at various developmental stages.
Organize activities and Civic Education Day to instill proper knowledge to students of various forms
Promote students’ awareness of and interest in current affairs by organizing activities and designing board display. |
| 2. National Education |
Help students foster a sense of national identity and a sense of belonging to school, community, HK and China.
Organize Flag Hoisting Ceremony during National Day and arrange students to take part in National Education Courses. |
| 3. Life Education |
Collaborate with Religious Education Committee to integrate Life Education in “Religious Education’ subjects & form teachers’ period. |
| 4. Value Education |
Instill proper value education to students through formal and informal curriculum.
Promote and overview the coherence between formal and informal curriculum in promoting value education and enhance coordination among different subjects. |

Arrange prize presentation of intra and inter school competitions at various times of the year during assembly period and special occasions. |
2008/09 Report
- School assemblies and form teacher lessons were arranged on Day 6 to foster students’ spiritual growth and to promote moral, civic and life education. 1 whole school assembly, 8 form assemblies and 29 form teacher lessons were designed and arranged by Moral and Civic Education Section. A detailed analysis was made so that the topics of school assemblies and form teacher lessons could match with the school concerns and focuses, e.g. time-management, emotion management, conflict management, planning, problem-solving, collaborative learning etc. Questionnaires were delivered to form teachers and students to collect their opinions on form teacher lessons and form assemblies in Day 6. On the whole, students and form teachers satisfied with the form teacher lessons and form assemblies arranged.
- The PATHS program for F.3 students was held cooperatively with YWCA. The tier 1 programs consisted of 20 lessons on value and character building were held in form teacher lessons in Day 6 and religious studies lessons. The tier 2 programs on career development were held after lesson. About 50 F.3 students participated in a 2-day career development camp. 12 students participated in an interview workshop and interviewed Mr. Wu Tin Hang (ATV news reporter) and Mr. Leo Chim Chi Man (Commercial Radio 2 disk jockey). They presented their reflection on career development in a F.3 morning assembly.
- National education activities were held around the National Day, e.g. flag hoisting ceremony, national education talk, students’ sharing on a national education learning tour, board display on current situation of China, inter-class quiz competition, Chinese knot workshop and film show.
- We participated in the Top 10 News Election organized by Hok Yau Club. 2D Lau Ho Kong got the 2nd runner-up of the Junior Form Chinese News Comment Competition and 7F Kong Shirley got the Distinguished Awards in the Senior Form English News Comment Competition.
- We participated in the Election of the Top 10 News of HKSAR Policy organized by Wenweipo and HKSAR. 5B Wong Lik Shun got the Memorial Award.
- Apple Campaign was held to support the charity works of the World Emergency Relief (WER). A talk on hunger problem was held in lunch time for about 90 students. About $16,000 was raised to sponsor the service of the organization.
- We participated in the Cookie Campaign organized by the Helping Hand. Over $12,000 was raised to sponsor the elderly services of the organization in Hong Kong.
- Poor and Rich Lunch was co-organized with Guidance Section to enhance students’ concern of the needed children in Mainland China. About 80 students participated in the activity. $7,279.5 was raised to sponsor the education services of the Sowers Action. A film show was also held to promote the activity.
- 6L Wong King Yee participated in the Sowers Action Young Ambassador Program and was awarded the Certificate of Merit for her good performance. She completed a 7-day experiential and exchange trip to Guizhou Sandu from Jul 28 to Aug 3.
- Famous quotations on learning and virtue were regularly displayed around the school campus and through the LED notice board.
- For enhancing students’ awareness of conduct and manners, we formulated a Code of Conduct and collected opinions from teachers and students by questionnaires. The survey results were reported in the Parents’ Newsletter.
- Inter-class Board Design Competition on the school theme was held. The champion was 3B.
- The Most Polite Student Election was conducted to promote politeness. 13 prize winners were elected by students and teachers.
